The school’s philosophy is that dancing is for everyone not just for the talented few, our aim is to provide our pupils with the opportunity to have fun whilst learning to dance.
All pupils take part in the school show every two years and are also given the opportunity to perform at local community events. Each July 40 pupils take part in “Chance to Dance”at the Pavilion Theatre Bournemouth along with ten other local dancing schools.
We hold our Summer School during the first week of August which is open to any pupil aged six and above. We work and play hard during the week and on Friday we perform a show for parents and friends. Great fun is had by everyone!
If they wish to, and when pupils have reached the required standard they are entered for examinations in Ballet, Modern and Tap.
Gifted pupils are encouraged and nurtured. They are entered for the Major Examinations of the RAD and ISTD and are given every opportunity to audition to become associates of the Royal Ballet School, and are prepared for auditions to any vocational school at the age of sixteen or eighteen. Pupils past and present have been accepted by all the major dance colleges and have danced with the National Youth Ballet of Great Britain and the English Youth Ballet. Former pupils are dancing and teaching both here and abroad.
